Myth ~ ANCIENT EGYPT ~ (Also spelled: Kadesh, Qadshu, Qudshu, Qadesh, Qedeshet, Qadosh, Qadowsh; From Qodesh meaning "Holiness" or "The Holy One") Her title was Lady of Heaven. Originally from Syria, she was worshipped by the Assyrians, Babylonians, Chaldeans (ancient Semites who ruled Babylonia), Greeks, Hebrews, Nabateans, Phoenicians, Phrygians, Sabaeans, Sumerians, and Syrians. She was brought to Egypt in the New Kingdom and her cult center was Memphis. She was originally the wife of El (“God,” the chief deity of the West Semites). In Egypt, she was worshiped as the wife of either Ptah (God of Artists and Craftsmen) or Min (An Egyptian fertility god; Qetesh was also said to sometimes be his mother) or Reshef (also Resheph, the Syrian God of War and Thunder). She was a Goddess of Love (Sex rather than fertility) and the Personification of Pleasure. She was depicted as a naked woman with curled locks of hair and raised hands holding lotuses and serpents while standing upon a lion. She sometimes wore a crescent moon on her head, which represented the night. In Egypt, she was in two triads. The first was the Semitic or Foreign Triad. It was made up of three foreign goddesses (Anat, Astarte, and Qetesh) that were worshiped in Ancient Egypt around the 18th Dynasty. She was also in the "Love and War" Triad, which included Min and Reshef. Later, Qetesh was assimilated with, or became an aspect of Hathor. Learn More: Ancient Egypt: the mythology: Qetesh.

Myth ~ ANCIENT MESOAMERICA (Modern Mexico) ~ (Translation: "Feathered Serpent") His Mayan name is Kukulcán. He is one of the four creator gods. The Toltecs worshiped him as the god of the morning and evening star in Tula (Tollan). The Aztecs worshiped him as the inventor of the calendar, patron of priests, and protector of craftsman; god of fertility, wind, and water. He is described as light-skinned and bearded. His mother is Coatlicue and his twin brother is Xolotl. Like Osiris of Egypt, Quetzalcoatl brought culture and agriculture to the Aztecs. Also, like Osiris, he was a god of death and resurrection. The Mesoamerican calendar revolved around periods of creation and destruction. Quetzalcoatl was one of the gods who participated in these cycles. After the world was destroyed, Quetzalcoatl gathered the bones of the dead humans, and created new humans by covering the bones with his own blood. In the year AD 987, Topiltzin, the ruler of Tula, took the name of Quetzalcoatl. There was a power struggle between Topiltzin-Quetzalcoatl and Tezcatlipoca ("Smoking Mirror"), another faction in the city. In one version of the story, Quetzalcoatl set himself on fire and the ashes rose up to become the morning star (Venus) (another variation of the story says that his ashes changed into quetzal birds that then flew up to make the morning star). In the other version, Quetzalcoatl sailed to the east on a raft made of serpents, (there is evidence that he conquered Chichén Itzá, a Mayan site) but he would return some day. Herman Cortéz exploited the prophecy in the year AD 1519, when he posed as Quetzalcoatl and took control of the Aztec Empire. Learn More: Quetzalcoatl: The Man, The Myth, The Legend.

~ The Quindosim is a brotherhood of 15 monks from the Suderian society on the planet of Dagan. The Quindosim guarded the Potentia (a ZPM), which was given to them by a Lantian (Daganian name for the Ancients of Atlantis). They swore to protect it until the Lantians returned for it. However, 10000 years ago there was a massive Wraith culling which destroyed the Suderian society. The Sudarians worshiped the Lantians and believed that the Lantians will one-day reward them for their loyalty. The Quindosim hid the Pontentia using a magic square. The Brotherhood has been revived and they take the Potentia to another planet to wait for the Lantians (116 – The Brotherhood).
